One of the statements that makes me crazy is “Housing is so much cheaper here.”  Here is a chart based on numbers from Sperling’s bestplaces.net showing median house prices and median household income. Since standards are 2.5 to 3 times income to buy a house, this shows that Northern Arizona is even more out of line than other cities considered high priced.  This does not even take into consideration that median house sizes tend to be much smaller here than in other areas.
