M.I.A., I'm not sure who you are talking to. If you are addressing me, you certainly haven't read this post or any of the others.

We moved here because of what Kingman was not what we wanted it to be. We hate what's happened in the last few years. If we were looking for a place to relocate now, instead of 5 years ago, I would NOT even consider Kingman. We moved here because it was a small town. We don't want to live in a city.

We may move, but only because Kingman is no longer what we wanted in a town. Kingman wants to pretend they are a big city with all the rules, fees, taxes, home prices, etc., but without the pluses that come with a city.

And for the record, I don't need a job, I'm retired. I like the dark, the stars, the lack of traffic. I don't care about not having "big box" stores, I knew that before I chose to move here. I don't want to live next to a prison or a gas station or a shopping center for that matter. (I've ranted many times on the scary lack of property owners rights in this town. I don't agree with the rampant zoning changes that occur. People rant and rave about California laws, but at least you never have to worry about a gas station being built on the residential lot next door.) And washing my car is something I don't do.

My comment on the prison in one of the other posts was merely to point out that the realtors and other pro-growth people are very inconsistent.

They were against the prison only because they thought it would devalue their precious "investments". They could care less about how much water it uses. They say that we have more water than we can ever use.

They are for massive housing developments, solar plants, wind generation fields and every other type of commercial development imaginable.

Like it or not, my point was that at least the prison would create jobs. All the other commercial and residential would create few or no jobs and would use just as much or more water.

You can't have it both ways, if you are against the prison only because of the water it will use.... then you should be against all the other residential/commercial developments also. You can't say the others are okay using just as much or more water because they won't devalue your "investment".

I also say that the home you live in should not be considered an investment.

That 100 gallons per day per person. Homeowners, voters who pay taxes, you want us to pay even more for those who don't work or help any community and who would be allowed to waste 100 gallons of MY water that I conserve, so each prisoner will be wasting more than the average 2/3 population uses per day to run a swamp cooler in the summer. Yeah, thats fair, just so you have a job for a short time! This is my home and I have worked hard for quiet,NO intrusive lighing by some prision. You should move some place where your services are needed instead of wanting to bring the city life out here.SOme of us moved away from the city to enjoy the quiet surroundings, not to bring the noise from a city here. MOve if you don't like it. The majority likes the silence and darkness at night. If however your afraid of the dark, and don't mind having a prison in your backyard, perhaps you should move next to a prison.

2/3s of Dolan haul water. For a prisoner to be allowed 100 gallons per day to waste. Conservation of water is a bigger issue and a problem people like you ignore assuming there will always be enough! The Hydrologic Cycle is already comprimised due to suburban sprall,Global Warming, over populations,do you need more? To give a prisoner 100 gals per day to flush away and waste while I conserve doing my duty, and you complain about more jobs. More jobs, more building, and in 80 years NO WATER SUPPLY to grow food,or for drinking. I bet you wash your car each week or more and never think about where our Hydrologic Cycle is right now! We are in trouble for a water supply not more jobs. Go get re-trained for one that is already there instead of making more. Everything with people like you is MORE, when we are dealing with something that is less and less each year because of the making more! Figure out what is more important, water for a future,or more building causing a larger Hydrologic breakdown?

They won't respond. It's a fairy tale as far as they are concerned. That didn't stop them from sending scathing emails however. There is more to follow on this subject based on the accusations by my buddies. They want links, I've got links.

Excellent job. This deserves its own thread on the Kingman topix.
The math spam protection that is coded here will prevent realtors from responding. I doubt that 20% of them can answer the math question.
